Job Summary:
The Sr Security & Vulnerability Engineer is responsible for proactively identifying, analyzing, and resolving security vulnerabilities across systems, networks, and applications. The ideal candidate will bring 8–10 years of hands-on experience, a solid understanding of patch and configuration management, and proven exposure to working with managed service providers (MSPs), particularly in the US or UK. This role is remote and requires flexibility to support global clients in a 24×7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support core MSP systems such as Autotask (PSA), NinjaOne and Kaseya VSA (RMM), Auvik, Sophos, Meraki (network), Acronis and Datto (backup), and ITGlue (knowledge management).
- Integrate disparate MSP tools to ensure accurate, real-time data flow between platforms including PSA, RMM, billing, documentation, and alerting systems.
- Design, develop, and maintain PowerShell and Python scripts to automate routine tasks, improve efficiency, and enhance system reporting.
- Collaborate with NOC, Service Desk, and Engineering teams to align tool configurations with operational needs and service workflows.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize existing toolsets and automation workflows for performance, security, and scalability.
- Lead the deployment of new tool features, version upgrades, and platform migrations.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions that aggregate and visualize operational KPIs.
- Support end users with tool onboarding, documentation, training, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain detailed documentation on configurations, processes, and automation logic.
- Research and propose emerging tools and innovations to improve operational outcomes and client satisfaction.
Required Technical Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in an MSP or IT services environment.
- Proficient in scripting and automation using PowerShell and Python (Bash scripting a plus).
- Strong working knowledge of PSA (Autotask preferred), RMM platforms (NinjaOne, Kaseya), and IT documentation tools (ITGlue).
- Experience with network management and backup portals (Auvik, Sophos Central, Meraki, Acronis, Datto).
- Familiarity with API integrations, system workflows, and IT infrastructure monitoring.
- Ability to create and maintain business intelligence dashboards and custom reports.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a process-oriented mindset.
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain technical subjects to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent experience.
Preferred Attributes:
- Vendor certifications (e.g., Autotask, Kaseya, Auvik, ITGlue) are a plus.
- Exposure to automation platforms like Rewst or similar.
- Experience with cybersecurity practices within MSP operations.
